Come join the Mountain Vista Chapter of the national ASL Honor Society! The ASLHS is an official program established by ASL Teacher's Association, the only national organization of ASL teachers. ASLHS was established to encourage high academic achievement at all levels of ASL study. More information about the national ASLHS can be found here.
ASL Students in ASL 2, 3, and 4 are welcome to become members of the ASLHS. During the school year, we will have meetings every other week in which students will communicate in the target language, explore Deaf culture and community, and dive into ASL Literature and Art through yearly competitions hosted by the national ASLHS. Additionally, students involved in the ASLHS will be in charge of setting up local Deaf events and helping with the ASL Club at Mountain Ridge Middle School. All events can be found on the calendar below, and meeting PowerPoints are attached to each meeting day under "More Details."
